About Panchamrit Hair Powder.
Making a traditional herbal hair pack usually means buying and measuring five or six different powders. Panchamrit does that for you. It is our blend of 11 traditional hair-care herbs, mixed in one pack, ready to turn into a paste.
The 11 herbs inside
- Amla (Indian gooseberry)
- Reetha (soapnut)
- Shikakai
- Bhringraj (false daisy)
- Hibiscus (gudhal)
- Methi dana (fenugreek seed)
- Neem
- Brahmi
- Jatamansi
- Vetiver (khus)
- Aloe vera
Reetha and shikakai are the traditional cleansers; amla, bhringraj, hibiscus, methi, brahmi and aloe vera are the classic conditioning herbs; neem, jatamansi and vetiver round out the blend with their earthy, woody scent.
How to use Panchamrit hair powder
As a herbal hair wash:
- Mix 3 to 4 tablespoons with warm water into a smooth, runny paste.
- Apply to wet hair and scalp, massage gently, and leave for 5 minutes.
- Rinse thoroughly.
As a hair pack:
- Mix 3 to 4 tablespoons with curd, aloe vera gel or water into a thicker paste.
- Apply section by section, from the scalp to the ends.
- Leave for 30 to 45 minutes, then rinse or wash with reetha.
For long or thick hair, use 5 to 6 tablespoons.
Why a blend?
Every herb in a traditional hair ritual does a slightly different job: some cleanse, some condition, some add colour or shine. A blend balances them in one step, so every wash is the same.
Which pack to choose
Use it once or twice a week? The 400 g pack lasts about two months for shoulder-length hair. The 600 g and 800 g packs are the best value for long hair or families.
Before you use it
Do a patch test before first use. Keep it out of your eyes. For external use only.
